Here are things I wanted to write about; one TV show + two meals.
Watchmen
Watchmen is one of the most incredible show I’ve ever seen. I can’t stopped thinking about it.
I’m not familiar with the comic, so I spent a lot of time frantically Googling backstories for Dr. Manhattan, Silk Spectre, and Ozymandias and reading the Peteypedia.

I’ve been thinking about comfort foods a lot. Probably because of all of the uncertainty.
When shit hits the fan I want something familiar. These foods have always been there for me for as long as I can remember – OK, so maybe Bangkok Thai Deli has been here for me for the past decade, plus, but still.
Each of these foods is something I’ve ordered at least twice during the pandemic (I think we repurchase a Top The Tater every other shopping trip). These restaurants and foods feel like old friends. Maybe they are.

This post is dedicated to Lunds & Byerlys’s marble cake.
I eat a lot of cake. Of all the grocery store cake I’ve eaten, Lunds & Byerlys consistently makes the best.
Compared to dedicated bakeries that sell cake, it’s still up there.
I’ve had every flavor of Lunds & Byerlys cake.
Somehow I forgot I lived near an old fashioned candy shop.
Regina’s Fine Chocolates is actually a 94 year -old candy shop that’s still owned by the same family.
I’ve taken her for granted.
Before the pandemic, I’d only visited Regina’s to buy treats for other people, but never myself.
That was a mistake.
I ate this meal five days in a row.
If there was more, I would have eaten it for six.
Stacy’s recent blog post on take-out recommendations inspired me to visit Bolé Ethiopian Cuisine located near the Super Target in Midway area of St. Paul, MN.
After reading her post I wanted to order the Super Veggie Sampler, too.
